A Prayer For Thanksgiving!

Postby DeaconSteve on Wed Nov 23, 2005 9:11 pm

Dear Lord,
We come to you this joyful day,
to fold our hands in prayer –
to acknowledge all the gifts you gave,
and the blessings we did share.
We thank you for our freedom,
and those who defend it so –
that we might live in blessed peace,
with a love you have bestowed.
We thank you for our families and friends,
and for each day throughout the year -
as you graced our tables with plenty,
and your presence always there.
We thank you for the comfort,
when some of our days were sad –
because you gave the greatest gift,
your grace to make us glad.
We ask you to remain with us,
on this Thanksgiving Day –
to thank you especially for the gift of faith,
that you have sent our way!
"Never ask Jesus to guide our footsteps if we are not willing to move our feet"

Thank you all very much. I'm still kind of stunned. Don't tell my family, but I was almost gald when they all left so I could come back here with my other family, my NetHugs family. I want to tell you all something. When I joined NetHugs, I had not written a single poem in over thirty years. It has only been through your love, support, friendship, kindness, and especially your inspiration that I have been able to put pen to paper again, or rather keystroke to computer. So, all that I have written and will write in the future belongs to you, not me. I am so happy when I'm that it's hard for me to leave. I do have chores to do though, and I do have to take care of mom Daugherty, but any free time I get, it's back here to my other family. You are all so special, each in your own unique way. That's all for now. I am an emotional person as I grow older (I'm still young now LOL), and I don't want to start crying. I just wanted you to know how much you all mean to me and how much I love you. You are the best friends in the world, and this is by far the best website in the world. God bless all of you.
